Ruff and Ready never fails!

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday is go up a few blocks and browse through my favorite antique store, Ruff and Ready Furnishings on 14th st. It reminds me of spending time with my mom when i was a kid, looking and looking in antique stores for treasures. It is two buildings large, and most of the time everything in the basement is at lease half off. In the past i have gotten two pieces of furniture there: a old diner bench and a old church pamphlet holder/ shelf thing. Not to mention, the people that work there are super super nice.

When my dad was a kid he had a infant of prague in his bedroom. It was still there when we would visit as kids. His actually wore a little coat made out of fabric.

My mom says she had one too, and that the nuns on Tybee Island would make little clothes for their infant of prague saint dolls to wear.
Today i walked straight down the stairs to the basement of Ruff and Ready and to my surprise, a little plastic infant of prague was staring right at me.

The price tag said 12.00 bucks. He sold it to me for 5.00.

DON'T FORGET!
Pope Benedict XVI will visit Washington for three days in April. This is the first time a pope will be in the capital since 1979. Tens of thousands are expected to celebrate Mass with him in the new Nationals baseball stadium!

If you see him, wish him a Happy Birthday, Benedict will be turning 81 while visiting DC.

did you get a ticket to any of his appearances?

did you know that Benedict tried to retire twice, when he was a cardinal, but JPII wouldn't let him? He just wanted to go home to Germany to write children's books about cats.

He LOVES cats. He's made the Vatican a home for all the strays of Rome.

If there isn't already a patron saint for stray cats, he will probably become it.
