Mike Ratel is a filmmaker in the Washington, DC metro area and a buddy of mine. In the past Mike has used his Super 8 movie camera to shoot footage of rock bands and of his travels. Mike's inspiration has been indie filmmakers such as Jim Jarmusch and Robert Rodriquez. A long conversation with Mike tonight and a love for any project that someone has their full heART in, I appreciate. And so, this leads us to Lawn Mower Racing!
On Your Mark, Get Set, MOW! is a tale of hope, redemption, and lawn mower racing. Can the sport of lawn mower racing save lives? One racing family in Michigan is hoping that it can. The family have lost five members of their family to Huntington's disease, a hereditary neurodegenerative disorder which 200,000 Americans are at risk for. Through the use of interviews with members of congress, health care professionals, and those whose families have been affected by the disease On Your Mark, Get Set, MOW! is not only a story of lawn mower racing but an expose on Huntington's disease and the efforts to find a cure.
Giving thanks.

Thanks for the plug! I am trying to scrape some cash up to buy a Mac Mini so that I can begin post production on the film. If you can donate $5 or 10 head on over to http://www.mowermovie.com
