HIP and I are going. I cannot tell you how excited I am. I have been a Chan Marshall fan for years now. In college RELAX used to see her perform in tiny bars in Georgia and Tennessee. She saw her back in the infamous Cat Power days when her live shows were known for their unpolished nature, with songs beginning and ending abruptly or blending into one another without clear transitions. Sometimes she would cut short performances without explanation and just walk off stage. She's older now. Drinks less. More confident.
She's quirky, beautiful and strong. I can't wait. I think I need some girl power...or cat power.
