Laverie Vallee makes erotic film for Thomas Edison

I'm doing research for what i think will be my next big series of drawings. Growing up my father loved everything that was the worlds largest, smallest, neatest, fastest etc. In fact, if we ever found or saw something REALLY cool he would introduce it by saying "it walks, it talks, it crawls on it's belly like a reptile..."

Laverie Vallee, Charmion, was a Sacramento born trapeze artist who possessed strength and a physique most men would be envious of. However, she was most well known for her risqué striptease performances.

The act opened with Charmion taking the stage in full Victorian attire. She would then mount the trapeze and proceed to undress to her leotard while performing impressive and strength-dependant stunts. The act was incredibly impressive and provocative for the era. However, the controversy created by her performances did not prevent the formulation of a devoted, and mostly male, fan base.

One of her greatest fans was Thomas Edison. As a result of that adoration, on November 11, 1901 Charmion committed a simplified version of her act to film for Edison. The film, simply entitled ‘Trapeze Disrobing Act’ focused more on the erotic aspect of the performance, though a few remarkable feats of strength are featured.

Charmion eventually retired to Santa Ana, California. She passed away on February 6, 1949 at the age of 73.

new painting i've been working on. it is the third piece of the series. PERFECT STARTER WIFE, ALL STAR CUTTER and YOU KILL ME.

SHARK ATTACK 08 welcomes Ryan Seacrest

I'm a firm believer in things happening in life and them being signs that you're on the right track. After this weekend I feel even stronger about SHARK ATTACK 08.

Ryan Seacrest was bitten by a shark at the weekend while swimming a few feet from the beach in Los Angeles.

Seacrest, the American Idol host was bitten on the toe, by a shark he bizarrely described as being about the size of an average cat.

The cat-sized shark apparently left a tooth in his foot. No word on whether it was cat-tooth sized.

"I thought it was a stick!" said Seacrest. "I wasn't quite sure what had happened. I saw it swim! He took a bite, and he left."

Seacrest did not need hospital treatment after the attack, but did take an Advil.

NEW TIES!

The night I came back from Atlanta my friends and I went to the Black Cat. I wore a DECOY tie and ended up meeting a man who wanted one just like mine, but boy size.
Here it is.

Request for one tie, lead to an assembly of many more new and cute cute cute ties!
These are the new Robots in black. You can buy them in grey at Capitol Hemp in Adams Morgan.

While home, MAC N DEEKS also went shopping for new lace and such. This lead to the newest DECOY girlie tie. It's the LILI tie. First one going to the real LILI herself.
